Why We Swim by by Bonnie Tsui.
"Swimming is an introspective and silent sport in a chaotic and noisy age; It's therapeutic for both the mind and body; and it's an adventurous way to get from point A to point B." --Bonnie Tsui
I loved this book! Author, Bonnie, has something about swimming and water for everyone. Very descriptive and positive! B Matthis
Swim Team by Johnnie Christmas
Although it seems like this book is just for kids, it is NOT! There is something in it for everyone: a senior expert swimmer, a non swimmer embarrassed that she could not swim, her overworked father with extreme water anxiety, historical recounts of the inequities in swimming for black people, and of course, the thrill of swim meets.
I highly recommend this book for everyone and all ages! Thank you Johnnie Christmas for your thoughtful and through book on how swimming or the lack of it, affects us all, in the water or out of it.
National Book Sward Long List.
Coretta Scott King Award.
