About 5,000 people drown in the United States each year. Our mission is to eliminate that number by matching new/non-swimmers with local swim classes at existing pools, teach all swimmers and non-swimmers how to be safe with water safety classes.
Swim Freedom uses existing indoor pools provided by local organizations and governments and matches them with new/non-swimmers.
These pools are well maintained and staffed with certified swim instructors and life guards.
Everyone should know how to swim.
Not knowing how to swim leaves many non-swimmers vulnerable to the possibility of drowning when at or near a pool, lake or ocean. Many non-swimmers deny themselves the pleasure of being near the the water because they have never learned this important skill.
According to the CDC (2024), 55% of the U.S. population does not know to swim. The "54" in our name represented the percentage of people who do not know how to swim but sadly, in 2024, that percentage has risen to 55%.
