Swim Freedom Annual Report 2025
2025 Overview
In our first 12 months, Swim Freedom has done very well. We realize that adults really want to know how to swim! They talk about going to beaches and cannot get in the water.! They talk about their anxiety. This is a real need in our community. Our goal for swimmers for 2025 is 150 and by the end of January we are at 46. We currently have a 80+ wait list for adults and 10+ wait lists for children. See your Grants in Process below! We are in need of donors and volunteers.
Grants in Progress
- Submitted USA Swim grant on Dec 31, 2025 for 3 swim courses with 30 Black Homeschoolers. Still waiting to hear back.
- Adult Swim Class started Sunday Jan 12, 2025 at YMCA -Menino (6 weeks) -7 swimmers
- Adult Swim Class started Friday Jan 18, 2025 at BCYF-Charlestown (10 weeks)swimmers
- Two SF clients got 1- Adult class at BCYF Flaherty and 1- 3 year old class at BCYF Flaherty
- City of Boston Grant for Veterans due March 28, 2025. Waiting to get data about Veteran interest in swimming. Data collection and outreach.
- Grant to Dicks Sporting Good for $1200 of swim supplies (suits, goggles, and caps). Did not get this award.
- Grant to PHTA submitted this week for continuing adult class at Menino. Still waiting
- Anonymous donor from San Francisco donated $200 last week.
What do we still need?
1. Dedicated board members who can help us fundraise donations.
2. Intern and volunteers help our director with day to day operations.
3. Encourage and direct our swimmers parents and adults to earn Water Safety Certificates from the Red Cross.
